  • Interior temperature and conditions recorded
  • Check air filters and if replaced, document the replacement date
  • Air-conditioning or heat system tested
  • Water heater operation
  • Check water heater for leaks or rust markings

  • Check water treatment system and salt level (if applicable)
  • Check occupancy lighting such as lamps on timers

 BATHROOMS & TOILETS
 
  • Run water in all sinks, baths and showers
    • Look for obvious issues like tap dripping, leaks, and slow drains
    • Look for closed drains
    • Look for water stains in toilet bowl
    • Look for signs of insects or pests
    • Flush toilets, check flush and refill rate
    • Check if toilet tank flapper is worn or if there is a fill valve leak
    • Check for discolorations on floor around toilet base
    • Leave toilet seat up to prevent mould growth
KITCHENS
 
  • Refrigerator and freezer
    • Check that appliances are properly cooling
    • Check for any perishable items
    • Ice maker should be turned off
    • Ice bin should be empty
    • Refrigerator water supply valve should be closed or off
  • Check cooker and stove
    • Verify all knobs are in off position and cook top is off
    • Verify oven turned off
  • Kitchen sinks
    • Run water in sinks
    • Run sink/garbage disposal
    • Reverse osmosis system
    • Look for obvious issues like tap dripping, leaks, and slow drains
    • Check for closed sink drains
  • Check microwave
  • Check that all electrical items are turned off or disconnected
  • Empty any sitting water in coffee maker reservoirs
  • Check for open bags of food that can attract insects or pests
  • Check rubbish bin
  • Dishwasher
    • Leave door open to prevent mould growth
    • Check for water leaks
LAUNDRY
 
  • Run water in all sinks
